All India Services are mentioned in the Constitution in Part 14. But the Constitution does not define any of those services. The Indian Administrative Service is popularly referred to as the IAS and was formally constituted in 1947. It is the premier service in India and offers an attractive and challenging career. There are fame and glamour also associated with this service for those who have excelled in their posts. IAS is the job from where you can reach the top of any government organization. If I ask you what you need to change the things that are going the wrong way. I mean poverty, corruption, the System we often refer. What you need money or authority to make changes. The answer is the Authority. You may give funds, help poor but change things from its core you need authority.
The IAS officers handle the affairs of the government. At the state and central level, this involves the framing of the policies and its implementation. At the district level, IAS is concerned with district affairs, including developmental duties. At the divisional level, the IAS officers look after law and order, general administration and various developmental works. Becoming a collector is just one of the jobs an IAS officers takes up in his long career. As secretary of various departments, an IAS officer heads the organization and takes it ahead.

UPSC exam happens on every 2 June. UPSC exam 2020 is on 29 May this year. One thing you should consider in this exam. UPSC is a constitutional body so every exam paper and result happens on time. Not like any other government exams that never happens on time.
Though you can find the syllabus of UPSC on many websites. But one should always see things from the official website first. UPSC will release a notification for CSE(Civil Services Examination) in march month. The notification contains all things related to exam including syllabus. The Preliminary examination happens in the first week of June. Which is an MCQ based exam while the mains exam is a written exam(you actually have to write answers on the answer sheet). Qualified candidates will appear in mains examination if qualified in mains then interview. A total of mains marks and interview marks will decide your rank. Rank will decide your post(IAS, IPS, IFS, etc according to your preferences).

The pension facility for all govt employees (except armed forces) has been revamped from 1 Jan 2004. … So, all in all, govt employees (even IAS officer) will still get a pension, the only difference is the ones joining after 1 Jan 2004 have to contribute 10% of their salary for it.
Needless to say, the path to becoming an IAS officer requires dedication and hard work. The Civil Services exam for IAS isn’t an easy nut to crack, to say the least.
